Italy

”Americans love Italian wines for its diversity of styles, protection of indigenous varieties, food-friendliness and, quite often, great value. Romantic landscapes don’t hurt Italy’s brand, either.”

Italian Wine

Nothing stirs the appetite quite like tables laden with bowls of pasta, risotto, focaccia, pizza and arancini. And at the center of it all? Bottles of Italy’s finest wine to pair perfectly with the laughter and joy of a delicious meal shared between family and friends.

Italy produces arguably the world’s best food-friendly wines. From the lightest expression of Pinot Grigio through to Chianti’s bright acidity and rounded out with the rich indulgence of a well-aged Barolo, there’s a wine for every meal and every taste.

About Italy

A quintessential Old World winemaking country, Italy has been producing wine for centuries with well over a thousand grape varieties grown across twenty distinct wine regions.

Italian wine is classified into four tiers of quality; the highest being DOCG, followed by DOC, IGT and Vino da Tavola. While these are helpful indications, it’s important to note that the IGT classification was only implemented in 1992 and some of the most sought after Italian wines are now made under that designation.
