Argentine Wine
Malbec and meat are usually the first two things that spring to mind when Argentine wine is mentioned. While there is no denying that Argentina is the king of Malbec in the red wine world, don’t think for a second that’s all the country does.
Bonarda, Cabernet Sauvignon and even Syrah thrive in the high altitude vineyards of Argentina. When it comes to white wine, Torrontés leads the charge, but keep an eye on Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc as well.
About Argentina
The geographical diversity in Argentina changes in leaps and bounds as you traverse the country. From wetlands to deserts, to deep lakes and some of the highest mountain peaks in the world, Argentina has it all.
This amazing diversity of terroir has resulted in seven distinct wine regions, though the majority of the wine production takes place in Mendoza, accounting for roughly 75% of total output for the country.
