At the pinnacle of New Zealand winemaking stands FROMM winery. Crafting organic wines from exceptional vineyard sites throughout the region of Marlborough, FROMM has become an internationally recognized southern hemisphere wine producer known for some of New Zealand’s best Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Syrah and Malbec.
FROMM winery has built their reputation by producing an array of outstanding wines that reflect both European style and Kiwi ingenuity. All of this is done with environmental responsibility front of mind and organic principles leading the charge.

Family-owned
Georg Fromm and Hätsch Kalberer met in the late 1980s and decided to create FROMM winery. The first vines were planted in 1990. Two years later, in January 1992, after talking became planning and planning became planting, FROMM winery officially started.
The Fromm's returned to Switzerland in 2008 and today the passion for wine at the New Zealand winery continues; now under the careful eye of old family friend and owner Pol Lenzinger, co-owner Stephan Walliser and Swiss business partner George Walliser.

Winemaking
Led by winemaker, Hätsch Kalberer, FROMM's winemaking philosophy is very simple: they think of themselves as guiding the wines into the bottle, not making the wines. FROMM believes that to make great wines, they need to start with organically grown grapes.
FROMM places terroir over technology, and quality over quantity. The winery is dedicated to producing intense and concentrated wines with an uncompromising emphasis on texture and drinkability. They carefully regulate crop size, follow organic principles and are committed to sustainable viticulture.

Embracing organic farming and winemaking has never been a market driven decision. FROMM's first objective has always been to produce wines of excellence, and being organic is a welcome bonus for the winery and for those who enjoy their wines.
Healthy grapes make better wines and we are what we eat and drink. Organic viticulture and winemaking are part of maximizing the true terroir expression in FROMM wines, giving them a deeper sense of place.
All of the FROMM vineyards are fully certified BioGro organic, New Zealand’s leading organic certifier. BioGro has been at the forefront of the organics movement in New Zealand since 1983.
