Tasting Notes
The nose opens with pure, vibrant Riesling aromas and an understated complexity, a touch of lemon rind and peach notes, also orange blossom florals. The sweet entry on the palate quickly gives way to a mouth-watering, citrus infused taste sensation and a flavour density that is balanced with cleansing, ripe acidity and subtle flintstone minerality to give a long and “moreish” finish. And with only 7% alcohol, you can indeed enjoy the extra glass.
Winemaking Notes
2020 is an extraordinary vintage for Riesling. The fruit was ripe and in pristine condition with absolutely no botrytis and the relatively cool season provided a very tight, low pH structure, which makes this Spätlese one of the most precise expressions of our style.
