Pinotage Rosé
I could see this going down all too easily by the pool on a warm day.
The palate is light and zippy, with good, bright acidity lending superb freshness to the palate and through the mouthwatering finish.
In a blind tasting of Rosés made from varying grapes, Pinotage was the one that reigned supreme over and over again. Backsberg has been producing this dry varietal Rosé since the 2017 vintage and it is the epitome of freshness in a glass.
Certified carbon neutral. Sustainably farmed. Suitable for vegans.

Tasting Notes
Red fruit flavours of cherry and strawberry give way to minty freshness gleaned from earlier picked fruit. Lightly tinted from red grape skins, this salmon hued wine is fruity and juicy on the palate. Low in tannins, it displays delightful notes of melon, ripe tropical fruit and strawberry.
Food Pairing
Pair with seafood dishes and salads or enjoy with light lunches. The perfect partner to Mediterranean platters of olives, cheese, charcuterie and French bread.
Winemaking Notes
A combination of trellised and bush vines from both Wellington and Paarl regions. Pinotage grapes are picked before they are fully ripe at 21 degrees Balling with the red fruit being processed similarly to a white wine. The grapes are crushed and pressed, followed by a cool fermentation in stainless steel.
